to Invictus0000 : I've had two good recent sessions with a local guy, he's had the plimsoll, wooden handled strap and cane off me, and I've had the plimsoll off him, I must get him to strap and cane me next time.

10 mm thick leather, so you can hold it out and it doesn't bend much. I'm always happy to use it on a deserving backside.
